Yet as of today there are more DC3s operating commercially than every other Douglas aircraft type put together.

Yeah. I dont understand their argument either. Seems silly, id hate to tell them how many cargo planes are still dc3s TODAY. And that there are p51s still flying at the reno air races every year. I dont get this at all.

For me, DC3s and as I recall DC4 or Constellation on Moresby to Rabaul flight (1963/4). Last visit 2014.

When I first came to Yorkton in 1967 Trans Canada Airlines had daily service to Winnipeg, and I think Saskatoon and Edmonton as well. Yorkton had a short runway just long enough for the lumbering DC3s. The joke was that the passengers all had to help by flapping their arms during takeoff.

In this issue of Cancer Cell, Liu et al. use mitochondrial DNA mutations to reconstruct clonal lineages of the innate immune compartment in human tumors. They show that intratumoral type 3 dendritic cells (DC3s) arise from circulating monocytes and that a monocyte’s fate in the tumor microenvironment is programmed peripherally, prior to tissue entry.
