@hellomcdm.bsky.social's Flee Mortals is now available on DDBeyond!!

I was lucky enough to write a few horrifying ways to die stuffed in the darker corners of the 300+ monsters in this huge resource. It sets the bar for dynamic, exciting combat in 5e.

I wonder if this is yet another place where they are hamstrung by the DDBeyond infrastructure and can't actually program a non-spell power system so they have to write something that can integrate with their platform even if it is less good

Many feelings about all the new D&D news from the keynote.

Feeling a level of cynicism of the ✨Corporate Synergy✨ of the crossovers, the Icons line has the potential to be the worst kind of "member-berries", and a lot of the DDBeyond stuff is cool!

But mainly vindication for Dark Sun coming back!

Well, I figured they were moving in the general direction of de-prioritizing printed books in favor of pushing players toward DDBeyond, but something from the TSR days is definitely creative.

The DDBeyond changes are the think I'm probably most excited about day-to-day. Rebuilt search, better systems, and LFG tools will make the site significantly better.

The book adds six subclasses, six playable species, arcane duel rules, new items, and a full gazetteer of the Western Frontier and the town of Quickstone—perfect for campaigns set between Breland and Droaam. #Eberron #Quickstone #KeithBaker #DDBeyond #TTRPG

Players had 30 options and used the same 3 over and over. I switched that group over just before Covid because WotC was giving out non-profit licenses for DDBeyond that unlocked all content up to that point for free (which was amazing).

I still run it during the Summer for our library TTRPG days

Plus accessibility of their own material - DDBeyond is a more accessible tool than others, and there are definite challenges to PDF accessibility, but Hasbro has enough money to hire consultants for that. And a lot of us can't physically carry 4+ books or more everywhere. -.-
