Afaik it is still the case that DFAT has less foreign language capacity than a random sample of the Australian population
The Australian Public Service is not as culturally diverse as Australia, esp at senior levels
Given the kids of NESB migrants are more likely to outperform non-immigrants educationally, it means our APS is likely missing out on talented staff
