I agree with DGlaucomflecken that research exposure is not essential to practising medicine, but IT IS ESSENTIAL for medical research. We do not have enough physician researchers and MD/PhD programs alone won't supply the need

- Research arms race real but limited.

Since this comes up all the time, and was recently highlighted by @DGlaucomflecken, here are some actual updated guidelines on contrasted imaging and renal function.
