He see afterwards how Dhrem is happy with Cross, seeing them trying to communicate with each others and Cross don't show any hostility towards Dhrem, he even show special carefulness with him... But what Natmar notice the most, was how Dhrem smiled...

So long he never saw his brother smile...

Dhrem is very ill, a rare illness that affect his bones, turning them into crystals, some over growing between his joints or inside of him, now stuck in a wheelchair...

Dhrem never grow up like a regular kid, always stuck in a hospital room, unable to leave even once, not even for his birthday...

"Cross!" He points himself to the alien, who stares at him with confusion, and Cross repeated himself until the alien understand what that "wierd creature" is trying to do.

"D-Dhrem..."

"Dream? Is that your name?"

"Ya nomi Dhrem da." The alien continue, which Cross end up understanding as "My name is Dream."

Ya nomi... Cross da..." He repeat.

And so they started having fun learning each other's language, the two actually bounded and became friends despite the language barrier!

One day, Natmar overheard that they wanted to stop taking care of Dhrem, that he was becoming a burden, that they could just tell the brother that he "passed overnight", and that set Natmar in a pure rage, especially that it was about to be Dhrem's birthday... His SPECIAL birthday...

In a regular birthday, you can get a new phone for exemple... But on a special birthday, you can get a trip to the moon or anything you can wish for! It's your special day!

... And Dhrem never got anything, even the most simple like go to the beach or anything...

When Finally Dhrem's brother Natmar(Nightmare) urged after seeing Cross' disappearance, he stare in shock when seeing the two having fun. Dhrem begged him to not hurt Cross, claiming that he wasn't dangerous!

Natmar gave up and allow his bro's new earthling friend(or pet as he call him) to stay...

So he decided to take Dhrem with him, steal a spaceship, and decide to go in direction to earth, hearing that there's probably a solution on this planet light-years away from them, giving him the possibility to make a cure!

But most of all, he wanted to make his brother smile again...

Meanwhile Cross him try to learn their language, because he has enough not understanding them...

For now he tried to learn some lines with Dhrem but it's clearly not enough and Dhrem isn't the greatest in teaching(that and he needs to rest a lot...) but he is the only one willing to try...

Eilfaresh is the name of the language the aliens in this AU speak. It's the main language of Eilfar(their home country, not the planet!)

None of them toke the matter to learn English, why should they? They don't plan to stay, just find a remedy for Dhrem and go home... They never planned a Cross...
