A huge Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 patch has landed improving many parts of the game, along with helping performance with an upgrade to NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR3.1 and Frame Generation plus some improvements to their anti-cheat (Easy Anti-Cheat).

Loving @timschiesser.bsky.social's and @hardwareunboxed.bsky.social's incredibly thorough work covering FSR4. Sometimes mixed results at 1440p than what I saw in at 4K perf mode (which I thought was just better than dlss3). Tim also sees DLSS 4 disocclusion issues

I was fully onboard with DLSS2 and think it's a great use of the tech, but relying more and more on frames that are entirely generated by an AI is not appealing to me.
DLSS3 already looks poor in motion, and that's just 1 frame.

FSR4 is the first time I’ve actually found FSR good enough to use on the reg. It seems roughly equivalent to DLSS3+ in terms of perceived quality and lack of artifacts.

what took DLSS1 from a incredibly flawed, useless tech demo to something that a lot of people are satisfied with in DLSS3/4? Better and more robust training data probably is a little bit of it, but as far as I understand the vast majority of the gains was from smarter engineering & more horsepower

Kinda embarassing for Nvidia that AMD Frame Generation looks as good as DLSS3 Frame Gen while running faster and on any modern shader GPU instead of locked to expensive 4x series cards.

Yeah I've been keeping up on FSR4 stuff via HUB, and it seems like it's in a really good spot these days. Even XMX/Native XeSS is better than DLSS3 these days, which is nice.

I guess we can pray that FSR4 gives comparable performance to DLSS3, since AMD doesn’t seem to be courting the AI companies near us hard-core. That’s the one possible saving grace

imo nothing lower than 3060ti for 1440p gaming. if the price is close b/t 3060ti and 4060ti, the 4060ti will give you dlss3, and more importantly for editing, the av1 encoder. you want that if possible imo.
if there's a 3070ti for less get that.

imo nothing lower than 3060ti for 1440p gaming. if the price is close b/t 3060ti and 4060ti, the 4060ti will give you dlss3, and more importantly for editing, the av1 encoder. you want that if possible imo.
