seeing covid/masking stuff. i’m begging people to at least mask in medical facilities. from your local autoimmune disease haver on a DMARD and sometimes steroids on top of it

A brilliant editorial. Antipsychotic prescribing ⬆️s with no little change in incident psychosis.
If the person took immunosuppressantdrugs for an autoimmune condition they would have lifelong structured monitoring (DMARD) shared between specialty & #primarycare
=s discriminatory care.

Alright. It's time for DMARD #5. Give it up for Xeljanz!

when hydroxychloroquine is consistently portrayed as only “an antimalarial” without context of its use as a disease modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD), of course we get horse paste jokes. that’s way more fun than the obscure suffering of patients with autoimmune diseases they’ve never heard of.
It’s beyond a shame that reporters covering the hydroxychloroquine debacle continue to be unable or unwilling to represent hundreds of thousands of chronically ill patients who faced the collateral damage of the hype around our essential daily medication.

Who does omitting the harm to us serve?
Appreciate your work here, Cathleen. Just one question: was there any reason the massive hydroxychloroquine shortages that occurred in the wake of this paper were not included? At least 825k autoimmune people, myself included, were unable to get our essential daily pills.

(And there's better insurance that could lead to changing my DMARD and being able to get off the 5 extra pills I have to take due to the side effects my current DMARD is causing)

Scoping review compared guideline recomm. for DMARD use in pregnancy & repro health for patients with rheumatic disease. Although recomm. for csDMARDs were similar b/w guidelines, there was significant variability in recomm. for b/tsDMARD use

Therapy (DMARD) adherence is often poorly measured, that's why SQUEEZE developed a Care Model to improve adherence. This ehealth facilitated Model is being piloted in Switzerland with the goal to enhance routine rheumatological care. #EULAR2026 @agneskocher2.bsky.social @sabinadegeest.bsky.social

Genuine question: what is a DMARD?

Cognitive Impairment: The Hidden Burden in Lupus Care

A patient with SLE, well-controlled joint symptoms, and stable kidney function on biologic DMARD and mycophenolate, reports fatigue and memory issues during a follow-up. How should this be addressed? #ACR24
Cognitive Impairment: The Hidden Burden in Lupus Care | RheumNow
Suppose you have a patient with lupus returning for follow-up. Their joint symptoms are well controlled. The kidneys—managed with a combination of biologic DMARD and mycophenolate—show no signs of…

We are at the AmEx lounge at the airport and the TV has DMARD ads and it’s like the third time and I think they know my phone is nearby

I despair, the small field of grass had several dandelions growing, only for the local council to mow them down earlier today.

*yes, I use dried leaves and roots (bought online) as tea to help slow down the progression of a renal side effect due to the first DMARD I was placed on

Don’t know if anyone’s bothered to test, but the same is true for autoimmune connective tissue disease. Each month as my DMARD wears off my thoughts slow down and transient aphasia ramps up.

Going though multiple tests to be put on a super stronger DMARD. Then to be asked if you want to be a guinea pig for new meds etc. Sorry Doc when you get into high percentages of complications or me not coming back at all you lose me. I get it you need to ask as I am a rare case.

Thanks! The search for a DMARD to complement my biologic for PsA continues! I'm hoping to at least be able to take my OA med again, but if the only choice for the complement clears through the liver, I think she won't okay that 😭

Pros:
- Well-tolerated DMARD that doesn’t suppress your immune system like other medications

Cons:
- My immune systems already fucked anyways boss

They used to give gold injections to some people with rheumatoid arthritis, but they've stopped now because better alternatives to chrysotherapy were developed.

Was a pretty toxic treatment en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold-co...
Gold injections (Myocrisin)
Gold injections (Myocrisin) are a DMARD used for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis.

And it turned out that without treatment, that timeline was measured in months, not years. Prednisolone will help but I can't take it long-term. The first DMARD I tried was the reason I stopped treatment altogether because the side effects were so bad.

Me three months ago: have a Sharps bin filled with used DMARD injection pens

*Local pharmacy: "No, we can't take that in, you have to take it to the hospital."

Hospital pharmacy a few minutes ago: You're meant to take this to your local pharmacy (after I just told them what * told me)

#PsA #Fibromyalgia

I’ve had PsA 4 years without real respite on DMARD and biologics, one worked for a couple months but that’s it. Another triggered the Fibromyalgia 3 years ago. The combo of the 2 totally out of control is excruciating every day. Sometimes I lose hope.
