I have zero nostalgia for old Pokemon shit (I was a fully grown adult going to punk shows when little kids were first being sent into seizures over them Pocket Monsters), but I *love* that ghastly grey DMG-001 aesthetic they’re embracing for this 30th anniversary of Pokemon merch.

It lives! Tim's new #FPGBC assembled and ready to rock for #ClassicGameFest! We'll likely bring the OG DMG-001 too but this sounds pretty darn good and, importantly, it's backlit (and also a pretty good FPGA implementation). Tim's Analogue Pocket will be for playing NSFs.

Another nostalgia pick, I was able to trade for this when I was young and at this point in the game (the card was still new), Dark Paladin felt incredibly powerful, an awesome counter for the early Blue-Eyes decks that were still relatively prominent.

The original DMG had a backlight model exclusively in Japan, the next backlight handheld was the SP AGS-101 in 2005. The SP AGS-001 had a front light, and nothing before that had a built in light.

They made the mistake they’ve been making since they first started mining original Game Boy nostalgia, when the 3DS came out; more people played Pokémon on Game Boy Pocket than on the Tetris Machine that is the original DMG-001.

De las tres portátiles de esa época, era la peor con diferencia en hardware. Game Gear tenia pantalla iluminada y adaptador de TV, y era literalmente una MS portátil. Atari Lynx (Epyx Handy) tenia una potencia nunca vista. Pero ganó la DMG-001 🙃

Going from playing Blue on a DMG 001 to playing Silver on a Gameboy Color was mind-blowing to me at the time. Night/Day cycle in a gameboy game? Forget about it!
