...and members of closed, hierarchical, or authoritarian societies tend to dislike this, correctly recognising the mere cultural contact as undermining their preferred order (e.g. the Remain Klingon movement in Disco, or a disgraced Cardassian-gestapo officer described them as "insidious" in DS9)...
