Great 2015 shot from a NASA camera aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR)
I hadn't seen this before. This is pretty remarkable.

Some discussion on Artemis II broadcast about how dark the Moon is compared to Earth. Here's a really nice look at the two together from the same camera -- the Moon isn't white, it's dark brown www.planetary.org/space-images...

The caption does not say so, so not as bad as another I've seen, but this image is *also* not from Artemis II. It's from the EPIC camera on DSCOVR in 2015, and it is post-processed.

G4/G5 storming is on the table today. Bt has peaked at 91 nT on the 1s DSCOVR mag data. Extremely impressive shock.

let’s hope scientists can restore access to DSCOVR at some point since having reliable solar wind information is very important for monitoring space weather conditions.

Wow.

“NASA's EPIC camera aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite captured this unique view of the Moon as it moved in front of the sunlit side of Earth. This view shows the fully illuminated ‘dark side’ of the moon never visible from Earth.” www.planetary.org/space-images...

We have still not received any data from the DSCOVR satellite after over one month since its last transmission. This satellite is our backup solar wind measurement after ACE, which has been operating well beyond its expected lifetime…

NASA’s DSCOVR satellite caught the Moon photobombing the Earth from a distance of a million miles.

That’s about four times farther away than the Moon itself.
