IIRC, i think a DT17 crew member mentioned that they passed on Angones and Youngberg's Disney Afternoon Universe idea beacuse there's a rule at Disney that every Disney Afternoon reboot needs to be different from another one to stand out in their own.
As much as I'd like to see DW back in action... What was wrong with the cast from the Ducktales reboot? They paved the way for these reawakened shows.

I love Darkwing Duck but I'm not overly precious about it remaining the same forever. I'd be open to a more DT17 style take of the show with more consistent continuity or an overarching plot alongside the silly slapstick. I'd probably not be into anything that takes itself too seriously though...

I'm sad the Darkwing reboot isn't the DT17 spinoff that was being kicked around for a minute but. Well. I love Darkwing so I guess I'll be checking it out when it drops.

It’s really interesting, you can carbon date my interest in animation and cartoons by going to my tumblr archive and seeing when I started posting about DT17. The behind the scenes, the interviews, the fandom drama *cough* delpad incident *cough*, it’s all integral to what I’m interested in now.
