I showed the 5 year old a video of Steph Curry hitting a mid-court 3 pointer in the all-star game. Three guesses as to who attempted a 3 pointer in his YMCA 4/5 year olds game this weekend #DadFail

Like me buying the film Yellow Submarine and making my kids watch it because I thought it was brilliant when I was a kid.

And it’s irredeemably shit….decent songs but otherwise dreadful. #dadfail

I probably shouldn't rely on my 4yo to apply sunscreen to my back.

I failed to close the baby gate and they managed to get out. #Dadfail

Yesterday I managed to get my brother’s key fob locked in his car after starting it to warm it up (#dadfail)

But.. I was then able to use a cross country ski and chimney sweep rod to unlock it, which - I have to say - felt like a substantial win, with many dad points earned.

LOL the start of this hockey game. My daughter can’t believe the fighting. Clearly didn’t make her watch enough growing up #dadfail

I did a #dadfail today. My daughter showed me a card trick that blew my mind. She was so proud of herself for remembering how to do it. Then I figured out how it worked and explained it to her. I could see the magic sparkle leaving her eyes and being replaced with disappointment that I ruined it.

Got my daughter DVDs of Mr Ben, I was so proud to watch it with her. She didn't even finish the first episode #dadfail

Egads, that reminds me of the time I chose a Studio Ghibli film for family movie night without doing adequate research and ended up traumatizing my 10- and 7-year-old kids with Grave of the Fireflies. #dadfail

magnifico spent a year belatedly realizing he had accidentally made a friend who was DESPERATELY in love with him. dandini literally saw that wreck of a middle aged dadfail and fell in love with him On Sight. and then accepted "at least he can be my friend" and waited a year for the payoff.
Couple/Polycule Question: Were your OCs friends before entering a relationship together or were they romantic and sexual partners first and became friends with each other in the relationship later?

Days like today are the ones where the years of academic training & advanced degrees, provide no actual support in being able to help my kids financially as needed… #Dadfail

Nice. Wish my kids had inherited my Carlton passion but they're not into AFL at all!

Well, my daughter came home today with some lovely plaits in her hair, as my massive failed attempt at bunches this morning fell out after an hour or so, so a teacher did it

Took the kids to a new farm place with animals to pet and feed and a vegan market. Too bad the event is actually tomorrow and the gate was closed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #dadFail

My son learned a valuable life lesson about marshmallows, fire and his mouth. Always wait until the fire is not on the marshmallows before putting it in your mouth. Didn't think I had to spell out "don't eat the fire" but here we are

Things a father teaches his son: Work hard. Play by the rules. Be kind. How to replace a tire. Things this father totally forgot to teach their son, how to clean a gotdamn toilet #dadfail

Reminds me of the time I decided on a Studio Ghibli film for family movie night, but didn't do a thorough review of it beforehand ...

... which is how my 10- and 7-year-old were introduced to Grave of the Fireflies.

LOL. I think every parent has done this kind of thing at least once. We did driving 3 hours for a fair. But hey no #dadfail, it’s the thought that counts.

Oberon has since been expy'd into another friend's OCverse called Mechaverse, where he becomes a cringefail dadfail attempted cult leader of the Moon. He has also been expy'd into FFXIV, where his Mechaverse story essentially is FFXIV'ified to suit the universe.

Yes, no doubt. I was then subjected to a treatise about how warm her coat is, how hot it is at her school, how she will be taking her coat off immediately at school and can’t bear to carry her coat AND a sweater all day, etc.

8YO spotted two deer on our hike. Which is awesome as he frequently is completed unaware of the surroundings.

#Dadfail at getting a picture though, they scampered out of shot
