Trench Crusade lore to me seems like it’s just made up of the over the top edgy bits from like 3rd and 4th edition Warhammer when they were trying super hard to be grimdark. It’s just the “Oops! All Daemonculaba!” version of Warhammer lore
I find Trench Crusade depressing in a way I don’t with 40K despite it being I Can’t Believe It’s Not 40K.

I don't think it's quite daemonculaba bad; the whole "they cloned Jesus and feed him to people to create superpowers" still has a deep line of absurd humor to it which was lacking from the bad Chaos Stuff that came in the period between 3rd and Heresy popping off.

And I don’t like the Daemonculaba. It’s gross, but not in a fun way like Nurgle or noise marines, but in a very creepy way. It’s very exploitative and upsetting to see what happens to those poor women, and I hope the stupid meme dies and it’s never referenced in Warhammer again
