Kings Hotel, #Brighton: not just sea views, hot and cold water, electric radiators, an imaginative chef, and every modern improvement, oh no. There was also a poultry farm!

#DailyHotel: Art Deco #Aberdeen style. The 1938 Northern Hotel designed by AGR. Mackenzie replaced earlier hotel destroyed by fire. Reinforced concrete & granite facing; original features incl Crittall windows, curved ballroom. And who doesn't love a curved facade? #HistoricHotel

An #IsleofWight gem for today's #DailyHotel: Royal Hotel, Ventnor (1832). Originally a coaching inn (Fishers Hotel), name changed`followed royal patronage- in this case Queen Victoria. Such name changing was not uncommon- very good for business! #HistoricHotel #Victorian #History

#DailyHotel: The austere Italianate Yarborough Hotel #Grimsby. 1851 by 2nd Earl Yarborough/ Royal Dock Co. Enlarged 1891 for Manchester, Sheffield & Lincs Railway Co. Lovely ballroom with original plasterwork (anyone have a pic?).

Today's #DailyHotel (more an inn!). Tumbledown Dick Hotel #Farnborough (Tumbly). 1812 (earlier origins), closed 2008- now McDs. Name could derive from highwaymen Dick Turpin/Richard Ferguson/ chap who fell from stool/Cromwell's son. A fab gig venue! #HistoricHotel #Hotel #history

Today's #DailyHotel may appeal to #aviation #history & #ArtDeco loving folk! Tis the Aviator Hotel at Sywell Aerodrome, #Northamptonshire, located in a 1930s aerodrome building. The aerodrome was opened 1928 by the Northants Aero Club & had a key role in RAF training & in #WWII.

Today's #DailyHotel: White Hart Hotel, Harrogate, Yorkshire of 1846/7. Built on site of earlier inn of same name, Architect George Townsend Andrews, noted for his railway buildings esp for the York and North Midland Railway.

Today's #DailyHotel: Royal Hotel, #Weymouth, Dorset. Opened 1899 on the site of an earlier 1770s hotel of the same name. Constructed in red brick with Portland stone dressings, it is typical of many buildings of the period. Fab fireplace! #Dorset #HistoricHotel #Hotel #History

Today's #DailyHotel is the Royal Hotel, Llanberis, Snowdonia. Built c1830 to accommodate influx of visitors to the area. Princess Victoria (later Queen) visited 1832-.hence the name! Enlarged 1868 with a 'commodious wing' & again in C20. #Wales #HistoricHotel #HotelHistory

Today's #DailyHotel is the GII listed Collonade Hotel, London W9. Built as 2 houses in 1865, became boarding school 1880 & Warrington Lodge Medical& Surgery Home for Ladies 1886. Alan Turing was born here in 1912. Converted to Esplanade Hotel in 1935 & renamed Collonade in 1944

For #DerbyshireDay, today's #DailyHotel is Matlock Bath's New Bath Hotel of 1745 (extended 1780-90, 1860, 1885 & 1895& altered C20!). The second hotel built at #MatlockBath after thermal springs were discovered. Has original plunge bath in basement. #HistoricHotel #Hotel #History

Today's #DailyHotel is the rather imposing former County Hall, #Newcastle of 1910 by JA Bain, extended 1933. When a new county hall opened in Morpeth in the 1980s, the former CH was sold and opened as the Vermont Hotel in 1993. #HistoricHotel #Edwardian #Hotel #History

Today's #DailyHotel is the Very Historic timber-framed Mermaid Inn Hotel, #Rye- dates from the late C15 with a C13 stone vaulted cellar. Fabulous features include a courtyard passage, Tudor fireplaces and panelling. Said to be haunted. #HistoricHotel #Hotel #History
