Melati the Sumatran tigress. She will always be remembered. A great mistake was made at London Zoo where her former mate Jae Jae was swapped with Asim (they were introduced far too soon) and Asim killed her in a fight.

A deep bond is shown between these two young white Bengal tigers (although I did also see them fighting, but it was more play fighting). The lake contrasts against their beautiful white coats and the stripes play as reflections on the water. Archive photo from a long time ago of captive tigers.

#DailyTiger A #tigress named #Carrie charging forward at a group of small school children..Fortunately they did not see her so did not get frightened. Good thing there was a fence in-between. #photography #photo #cat #bigcat #feline #Panthera #ECK #EastCoastKin
Carrie shows her predatory side by charging at a group of small school children. I could tell she was going to do this by the previous expression on her face so I was ready to take the photo. She did not scare the children as she made no noise and they had their backs to her..She now resides in Japan, and is one of the daughters of Gaysha and Asim and London Zoo. She never charged at adults so it was a certain size that attracted her. Taken a few years ago.
