Morning #BlueSky ☕️ Taken over the weekend and deep in the U.K. woodlands, these trees are beautifully magnificent. Have a glorious day my friends ☺️ #ECK #ThickTrunkTuesday

Our photograph looks upwards into a woodland canopy, where towering trees stretch their branches across a clear blue sky. At the very centre stands a magnificent tree with an exceptionally thick trunk, its broad, rugged form rising powerfully from the shadowy undergrowth. The trunk is substantial and imposing, appearing almost like a natural pillar supporting an immense roof of interwoven branches. Its deeply textured bark catches the warm sunlight, revealing rich brown tones and intricate patterns carved by years of growth. Above, its enormous limbs divide and spread outwards, intertwining with neighbouring trees to create a dense canopy of autumn foliage. Leaves in shades of golden yellow, burnt orange, russet red and deep green glow where the sunlight filters through, contrasting beautifully with the darker areas of the woodland. The surrounding trees frame the central giant, their slimmer trunks and delicate branches emphasising just how thick and powerful it is. Patches of blue sky peek through the intricate network of limbs, while the forest floor remains largely hidden in deep shadow. There is a wonderful sense of age, strength and permanence in this scene. The central tree dominates the composition, its immense trunk standing like a silent guardian of the woodland, rooted firmly in the earth while its branches reach towards the sky. It is a striking celebration of nature's grandeur and the quiet majesty of a tree that has stood tall through countless changing seasons. Finally, our picture is finished with a simple white border frame.

This photograph feels like discovering a hidden corner of the world that very few people ever stumble across. The scene is deep within a lush Irish forest, thick with layers of green vegetation that almost swallow the landscape whole. Sunlight filters down through a dense canopy overhead, breaking into scattered golden patches that illuminate parts of the undergrowth while leaving other areas in cool shadow. In the foreground, the ground is uneven and rocky, with small stones and damp earth leading toward a narrow, shallow stream. The water is dark and reflective, quietly winding through the scene like a secret pathway. Moss-covered rocks line the streambed, and fallen branches lie partially hidden among the foliage. At the centre of the image sits the remains of an old stone structure, perhaps the crumbling wall of a forgotten mill, bridge, or boundary. The stones are rough and irregular, stacked tightly together and softened by years of moss, moisture, and creeping plants. Parts of the wall have collapsed into pale rubble, suggesting great age and long abandonment. Nature is steadily reclaiming it. The forest itself feels alive and overgrown. Ivy and climbing plants twist around trunks and branches, while layers of leaves overlap in every shade of green imaginable. Emerald, lime, olive, and deep mossy tones. On the right-hand side of the picture, a large dark tree trunk rises vertically through the frame, acting almost like a curtain partially concealing the hidden spot beyond. The lighting gives the image a magical atmosphere. Bright shafts of sunlight strike the ruined stones and leaves, making them glow warmly against the cooler. Overall, the photograph conveys stillness, secrecy, and quiet discovery. The kind of hidden place where you might pause to listen to birdsong, flowing water, and the rustle of leaves, completely isolated from the outside world. Finally, this evening’s picture is finished with a white border frame.

Our photograph captures the edge of the calm river Barrow down the road from me on what appears to be a bright, clear day. The water fills most of the image, glowing in deep shades of sapphire and cobalt blue. Gentle ripples move across the surface like soft folds in silk, catching the sunlight so that lighter streaks shimmer among the darker tones. Along the right-hand side, the water reflects the shadowy outline of nearby trees, creating a vertical band of dark green and black that contrasts with the vivid blue. In the foreground, thick wild grass grows along the bank. The grass is lush and vibrant green, with long blades bending in different directions, giving a slightly untamed feeling. Sunlight strikes parts of the grass, making some strands appear almost lime-green while others remain cool and shadowed. Near the centre of the water, two clusters of pale reeds or broken branches poke above the surface. They lean at awkward angles, their thin stems tangled together like tiny skeletal tents rising from the lake. Their reflections stretch downward into the dark water beneath them. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and still, with a quiet sense of solitude. The image feels cool and refreshing, as though the air carries the scent of fresh water and damp earth, accompanied only by the faint sound of rippling water and rustling grass. Finally, today’s picture is finished with a white border frame

Our picture depicts a serene park-like setting with lush greenery and dappled sunlight heading into a forest area. The picture showcases a pathway winding through a vibrant green park, lined with trees and a stone wall. In the foreground, on the left, is a prominent tree trunk with rough, textured bark, covered in patches of moss and lichen, and some leaves are growing from it. Sunlight creates bright, dappled patterns on the grass around this tree. To the left of the pathway, a low stone wall, constructed from irregular grey stones, runs along the edge of the park, with dark green foliage spilling over it in places. Further back, more trees and shrubs are visible, creating a dense green backdrop. The pathway itself is a dark, earthy color, appearing somewhat damp and shaded, with patches of sunlight breaking through the overhead canopy. The grass is exceptionally green and appears well-maintained, with scattered small white wildflowers and hints of dry, brown patches amongst the verdant blades. The overall atmosphere is tranquil and peaceful, evoking a sense of natural beauty and seclusion, possibly suggesting a quiet afternoon in a garden or park. The dominant colours are various shades of green, with accents of brown in the pathway and stone wall, and white from the small flowers. The composition leads the eye along the pathway into the depth of the scene and finally our picture is finished with a white border frame.
