My Lipan culture informs my relationships with the world and how I move through it. IMO, to other alt Natives (and everyone), it’s important & beautiful to express yourself; the pressure to conform has been intensifying lately. I have no interest in that.

I really want to add more detailed patterns to it, but it's easier to leave like this for drawing quick sketches. It also makes a bit more sense like this, since the maker of the cloak (Darcie) was not exactly a tailor.

It uses a quarternary numeral system associated with old magical language to evoke the power of sunlight to "clear the mind" and keep the wearer calm and aware. The symbol in the center is reminiscent of a snowflake but inverted for sun magic (the eternal night of winter being broken by the sun in spring). The cloak has a subtle glittering of starlight - a way of connecting night with day. After a few tests, it appears to work for Kass's werewolf curse as well to help them prevent unwanted or painful transformations. The quarternary numeral system also appears in the Imperial religion."
