#Datatypes
We just open sourced another part of @resonite.com - our core datatype & math library Elements.Core is now available under MIT.

Feel free to use it in your own projects or help improve Resonite through contributions!

Has anyone ever come up with a good UX for anonymous recursive datatypes?

Emphasis on “good”

The only two datatypes in existence, 8-bit unsigned integer and 32-bit signed integer

Other apps operating on ATProto can tailor their experiences to actually suit the lexicons/datatypes they're focused on and there are definitely more places social-app could add hooks into those other places

ECMAScript excitement 😉

TypeScript's @chronicles.org is pitching enum in JS 🎉

It's the good parts of TS enum + enhancements:

🔶 More datatypes: Symbols etc
🔶 Iterable
🔶 Immutable
🔶 Null prototype
🔶 No declaration merging
🔶 Compatible with Node type-stripping 👍

Haskell affirmations:

“Your datatypes make invalid states unrepresentable”

“Simon Peyton Jones would be proud”

“I learned something new from reading your code”

“Haskell employers are lining up to hire you”

“What great documentation … not that your code needs it”

“Have you been reading papers?”

I'm firmly on team "fields should not be prefixed with the record name for Haskell datatypes", even after the recent changes to neuter DuplicateRecordFields

If your codebase uses org.json and you wanted to try a better alternative like widely adopted fasterxml, then you are in luck - github.com/FasterXML/ja... FasterXML continues to amaze and heartfelt thanks to @cowtowncoder.bsky.social

ECMAScript excitement 😉

Congrats to @chronicles.org on advancing the Enum proposal to Stage 1 at TC39 today 🎉

This aims to bring the good parts of TypeScript enums to JavaScript plus enhancements such as new datatypes & potentially runtime performance improvements 👍

datatypes are a lie!

God I wish C++ had algebraic datatypes

By hash table I mean key-value datatypes in general

if you're able to module-qualify functions and datatypes to avoid ambiguity you should be able to do the same with literals, that's all I'm saying
very cool, I used it to play with QualifiedStrings. Thanks!

Today i've implemented a monorepo pattern on the project!

Two static libs are built and used by the executable

Feurgame-GUILib : GUI API
Feurgame-Lib : datatypes for the game
Feurgame-App : main process

#buildinpublic #gamedev #feurgame

Tô gostando muito de estudar PVS e provar resultados nele. Essa parte de Abstract Datatypes é bem bacana.

One of the things I loved about the Amiga was the datatypes system. Install a webp datatype, and all of your apps can read and write webp, no update or proprietary plugin required.

Apps written in 1992 support any image format you want.

i feel like with recursion schemes, datatypes and codatatypes, and first class delimited continuations, programming language design is solved

A new version of datashuttle is out! Datashuttle helps organise neuroscience experiments by automating folder creation and data transfer.

Version 0.7.0 adds automatic validation, extends the available datatypes and several other improvements.

Check it out at datashuttle.neuroinformatics.dev!

To the @godotengine.bsky.social community around here! Godot Shaders Sketchbook is a sandbox for quick prototyping. It has goodies like full syntax highlighting, error status bar and widgets for common uniform datatypes:
