Tiny joy I’m carrying with me today: the big huff Davy Jones makes as he sticks his face in the snow that fell overnight before taking an excited lap around the backyard

Doggo is still adjusting to time change. Work asks me to come in 3 hours early today. Dog happily gets up with me but is a little confused as to why we are up and about at 4am.

White sheet is pushed up under a bluish-green comforter to form a mound. A small dog is directly behind the mound of blankets, only the very top of his head and ears are visible.

Went away for the weekend. Think the dog is happy we’re home? One day I’ll ask Davy to write us a guide book on how to relax.

Sometimes, when you’re on a really tight schedule, the dog will roll in something extra fishy and foul. Davy Jones had his first emergency bath last night. He was not impressed, and frankly felt a little betrayed by Mom. 😂

A small black dog with a Christmas bandana is being held by Santa. The dog is staring off into the distance like he is dissociating. A smiling Mrs. Clause is on the left, standing in front of a Christmas tree. I am to the right of Santa, leaning over and smiling, dressed in a dark blue raincoat, skinny jeans, and brown hiking boots. My husband is standing next to me, also smiling. He is wearing a hunter green beanie, glasses, black bulky jacket, green cargo pants, and brown hiking boots.

Hiked about a mile, through summer heat and biting bugs in our local park to introduce my dog to the bay for the first time. The littlest wave rolled onto shore, and he promptly turned and “NOPED” right back the way we came.
