There is a huge culture of 'wild swimming' in Penarth via the Dawnstalkers daily swimming group. In Llanberis a jetty is provided, sans lifeguard for safe entry and exit from the water, and is a major tourist attraction.

One of my personal highlights was celebrating Penarth’s very first Seaside Award with the amazing Dawnstalkers. Thankfully the camera didn’t capture the shivering, but what a remarkable group of people; it was a real joy to mark the occasion with them.

In Cardiff the Dawnstalkers sunrise dipping group have been established for years, and although I'm not the type to get up early enough to partake, the wellbeing effect of groups like this is enormous.

Let's make the process of designating clean and safe spots easier!
