I co-authored this open letter to students in March, a couple months before our project was terminated by NSF (among at least 5 other DEIA-centered STEM ED grants at SJSU). We are still collecting faculty signatures as this is still acutely relevant. 🧪 #AcademicSky medium.com/@dearstudent...

We have over 200 signatures from faculty around the nation supporting DEIA efforts in higher education through this open letter to our students. Faculty -consider adding your name too! #academicsky medium.com/@dearstudent...

Faculty - if you are frustrated by the federal administration’s attacks on DEIA - here is one very easy action you can take. Sign this open letter to our students affirming our commitment to DEIA. Please share! #AcademicSky

This administration is canceling grants & vilifying DEIA. Faculty should be pushing back to explain how DEIA efforts are critical in our mission to support all students and benefit society by increasing student success. Please sign & share. #AcademicSky

Getting ready to Stand Up for Science tomorrow. We need to Save Our Science and make sure we can still focus on broadening participation in STEM. Some SJSU colleagues and I plan to advertise our Open Letter to Our College Students. Please sign & share. medium.com/@dearstudent...

This administration is taking every opportunity to redefine & vilify DEIA. Faculty should be pushing back to explain how DEIA efforts are critical in our mission to support all students and benefit society by increasing student success. If you agree, please sign & share medium.com/@dearstudent...

Universities have rightly made investments in DEIA to improve student success. As professors, we should reaffirm our commitment to educating all of our students. If you agree, we encourage you to sign this open letter to our students #AcademicSky #NeuroSky 🧪: medium.com/@dearstudent...

Professors: we know that we are paid to teach all our students and society benefits when more students succeed. Join my SJSU colleagues in affirming our support for ALL our students by signing this letter: Open Letter to Our College Students medium.com/@dearstudent... 🧪

Colleagues! Several of us at SJSU wrote an open letter of support & belonging to our students in response to the hateful anti-DEI EOs. Our goal is to reaffirm our commitment to ALL of them as they pursue their education/dreams.

Please sign/share widely! Link in Medium👇🏼💪🏼🫶🏼

I signed a letter by colleagues at @sanjosestate.bsky.social
"We oppose the destruction of student support centers and/or offices of DEIA. We oppose the cuts made to grant funding used to hire you to perform research and support your student research experiences."

Oh and there's a letter TO undergrads, from faculty, that you can read & sign on to here - medium.com/@dearstudent...

Faculty across the CA college system have signed this open letter to college students affirming their commitment to DEIA: "This should not be partisan. Public education exists to educate everyone, and society as a whole benefits when more students succeed."

medium.com/@dearstudent...

“Above all, we see you, and you belong here. We will not be quiet and we will continue to advocate for your access to an equitable and inclusive education.”

This is the way.
