Cannot imagine being in your situation. Hope you and your family get through this nightmare.
Universal healthcare works for the people it serves. Wife entered ICU on Dec24 2024. Came home on Feb25 2025. Cost to us was just over $700 - for parking while visiting her.

Living this hell now. Dec24 Dad hospitalised from Parkinson’s related episode; 6mths in hosp then transferred to resi aged care. I know the system but navigating it was hell. He died suddenly in Jan, can't get the 'refundable deposit' back until probate. Mum has dementia, still at home.

The first time we saw a photo like this, it was the nadir of the Vietnam War years (1968) and hope seemed lost.

Now, nearly 60 years later, we are in a similar place as the latest photo streams in.
