#Deddington
On Saturday, I was out and about in Deddington, speaking to residents about any issues they might have. Thanks to everyone that had a chat, and my team and I will now work to help with any issues raised.

#MotteMonday & not the easiest castle site to photograph at Deddington Castle, Oxfordshire
either from the ground or the air the trees do mask its shape for the most part, but sizeable ditches & banks survive at the site

We stopped at a country pub near Deddington. Very nice around there, walked some canals. The man who was running the pub had 'daddy' buy it for him. They looked at us like we were out of a zoo and couldn't understand the idea of what public school we went to being answered with comprehensive 😄

Just to be a pain- all this is very good, but until there is a decent park and ride from the other side of Kidlington, how the hell do people from e.g. Deddington get into the city? There is a bus down the main road, but not that often.

Big mob of rooks and jackdaws wheeling and calling over the church tower in Deddington last night, the sky dark slate streaked with orange in the last of the light. For the first time I felt, this is autumn now. TBH not a moment too soon after this punishing summer.

Pushed to garage, nut welded, stud out. Bikes now had a full service, new chain, and exhaust sorted.

Pushed back.

He just needs to pass his CBT on Friday and watch out Deddington and another annoying 50cc with a "sports" exhaust is about to hit the road.

You find yourself in a vicarage in the Cotswolds. You've no company but the tick-tock of the many clocks. But wait! Is that the rustle of a book leafed through by an unseen hand? Is that a cough and sneeze from the empty library? And hold on... who is that brushing your hair?!?

In a Cotswolds vicarage, an unseen hand winds the late vicar's collection of clocks.

Discussing with a fellow Deddington dad what we'd do with the altar room, his suggestion was to turn it into a poker room.

We're off to hell I think.

The local haunted house is for sale

The previous owners have done excellent Halloween decorations, including turning all the lights off and having a candle lit path to the front door, and they answered holding a lamp, dressed in Scream mask.

I'm thinking maybe vanilla fudge in the photo? But I think I have driven through Deddington on the way from Milton Keyne to Wales, and I remember that ginger tint in the local stone. I could have eaten it and the gradually changing flavours of fudgestone in the Cotswolds when passing by.

Truth be told, most architectural & geological terms can be converted into an edible equivalent.

Eg Banbury ironstone is clearly composed of compressed ginger cake. As shown here at Deddington church.

It has also been suggested that this building is toffee-coloured - a very hard toffee I fear.
