That's my boy. 👇 He is helping to organize efforts to expose the egregious abuses at Delaney Hall, the privately owned prison in Newark, NJ being used by ICE to detain members of the immigrant community, including workers, business owners, and minors. The goal is to close it down. Permanently.

Getting Citizens Bank to divest from ICE was a homegrown effort here. I can’t tell you how well organized this fight was.
💙💙💙NJ Town pulled
$91 Million from
Citizens Bank
➡️because they fund
ICE Detention Centers
(aka Camps)
Great job for taking a stand against the inhumanity 👏👏

There’s some really harrowing & important reporting on the use of prison labor in privately-owned ICE facilities. Here is a story from @propublica.org about GEO Group (which owns Delaney Hall) paying detainees to prepare meals, wash laundry & scrub toilets for as little as $1/day.
An ICE Contractor Is Worth Billions. It’s Still Fighting to Pay Detainees as Little as $1 a Day to Work.
GEO Group, whose stock is valued at $4 billion, says that state minimum wage laws don’t apply to the cleaning services that it’s asked detained migrants to perform at facilities where they’re kept.
