After the second round of strikes on warehouses in Russia the shares of the main competitor of Wildberries, Ozon are down nearly 13%. That's bad for the company's largest shareholder AFK Sistema as it recently put up 320 billion rubles in Ozon shares as collateral for a VTB loan.

Things look bleak for the Russian budget. As expected Russian oil taxes in December will be over 20% lower than the previously lowest month in 2025. USD value for the calculation was 80,35 rubles. Expect things to be even worse in January.

Updated infographic. Only a minor increase in this case as Wildberries in 2022 promised Volgograd to build a 100 000 square meter warehouse with 5 000 jobs to get them to invest in roads and then only delivered a 48 000 square meter warehouse with 500 jobs.

My low end estimate of the number of jobs lost at Wildberries locations just at the warehouses is 40 120. These can easily go to 45 000 and more as I base the Shushari site on how many were reportedly at the weekend shift when it caught fire in 2024.

Long thread on the Russian fuel shortage this week. In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug there are 30 liter refueling limits as of yesterday. In some locales there are no gas open and at independent chains the limit can be as low as 10 liters per car.

I am going to make the case for Wildberries refusing to cover losses from UAV attacks. Imagine you're them and you watch all spring Russian air defense fail to protect oil refineries. Are you sitting there thinking they will defend the guys who deliver hand made coasters?

Updated infographic. Added the facility in Tula with 194 000 square meter even though initial reporting said they would build 300 000 square meters. They had the remainder of the property left for development. 22 billion in investment and 15 000 jobs.

Updated Wildberries infographic. Again worker numbers are likely higher as we only have data for the first stage of the Penza warehouse and equipment in the warehouses would cost likely more than rebuilding them. We may also need a bigger map.
