#Denoising
Modern Denoising is kind of amazing when you think about it

I managed to resolve a problem I had with Graxpert. Seems my PC is too old to handle hardware acceleration!
So here are very slowly processed close-ups of NGC7331, with and without Graxpert denoising. Small but noticeable improvement with denoising I think

Realtime, no denoising besides TAA :)

Diffusion models are a kabbalistic miracle of math. At the core, they’re just incredibly advanced denoising systems, formally known as Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Models (DDPMs), e.g. Stable Diffusion and DALLE-2.

Our research on Neural Supersampling and Denoising (NSSD) has been updated.

💥 We've added a lightweight multi-branch and multi-scale feature extraction network for superior visual quality.

Our recently expanded blog has all the details 👉 gpuopen.com/learn/neural...

they're denoising my ass

I noticed that the results of CS denoising were good, but a bit stochastic (some particles were gone in one run, but clearly visible in another).

Combining the results of multiple denoising models by taking the minimum value at each pixel helps.

testing vhs-decode, no external amplification and i am kinda rawdogging it but JESUS CHRIST LOOK AT HOW GOOD MARIO ANDRETTI LOOKS HERE

this is after deinterlacing and denoising so not the raw image but like holy shit

everything after that is just gpu and should be as fast as native - tracing, denoising, blending seams, etc. it's the same glsl code

Really happy with this footage. Could use some denoising for the background but I could use $295 for davinci resolve so theres that

First pass of major edits is finally done. Still to do:
- Music
- Denoising
- Intro rewriting (due to developing current events)
- Minor re-records
- One reshoot (ffs)
- Fixing early citation graphics
- Creating a montage

it's 4 hours long & doesn't have credits yet btw.
It's been a while since I posted an update but I do want to ensure people know I am, in fact, working on something rather large. Your collective patience has been a godsend <3

Swimming pools with the new realtime path tracer. AI denoising causes some smudging at low spp, but it's somewhat hidden by the depth of field. I might try to incorporate some of the temporal denoising features next, it's pretty unstable/boily. RIP Fable on my Pro plan, thanks for the help

My bigger concern @christlet.bsky.social is @healthcare.nikon.com Small World In Motion website changing strapline to ‘AI-assisted post-processing’ as opposed to AI-generated- puts on same scale as denoising, segmentation, deconvolution, unmixing which we do legitimately versus what is deceptive

Love how the denoising on cycles looks in the first few samples

How many indirect bounces? 0, 1, 2… 1000?
Parallel mirrors. Tracing 8 paths/pixel per frame + DNN denoising. No temporal accumulation.
