#Depolarize
DOLORES DEI - I always loved you for it -- but it could not save us. It could not make me stay.

ELECTROCHEMISTRY - You would be right to drown this shit in alcohol. Drown it... until your neurons depolarize. Until it's gone, melted.

A priori you’d expect vbm to depolarize and veip to polarize, with DEM urgency higher but also less confidence in USPS. Q is which is stronger, adding up to predict ED polarization.

I expect mail to heavily depolarize. Given all Trumps attacks on it Rs who are still voting by mail aren’t gonna change now while will shift to in-person over fears of chicanery.

"I believe the only way forward is we as a species are going to have to learn to detribalize, depolarize & detoxify ourselves at a speed, scope and scale we have never, ever had to even contemplate. And I know how hard that sounds, but I’m here to tell you If we don’t, we're in for a world of hurt."
So much to think about here. We simply can't afford to NOT imagine what's coming/what's possible.

And, as a species, we better have a plan.

hosting a conversation with Joan Blades of moveon.org. We will focus on how to depolarize conversations in politics instead of getting worked up about news or election results.

This is not a surprising finding—it's been replicated endlessly that deliberation has effects like this on its *direct* participants.

The issue with leveraging this effect has always been scale. It's unclear how deliberation could be made to depolarize mass publics (w/o an institutional revolution)
Collective deliberation leads to large, reductons in affective polarization

Deliberation requires that people use good information to “weigh” competing arguments through civil and diverse discussion

I've got a crank theory that the dem staying in the race could depolarize the electorate in favor of Bodnar who, by virtue of the dem still being there loudly and defiantly, no longer just looks like a dem in a paper thin disguise

8. I want to point out here the limitations of 'depolarization' and 'mutual tolerance', which should not be treated as absolute, untouchable goods in themselves, when what we are asked to tolerate, and the people we are asked to depolarize ourselves against, are utterly intolerable

What does science say?

Electrical pulses depolarize sensory and motor axons directly at the neuromuscular junction. Bypassing the cerebral cortex, external current forces involuntary tetanic contraction, reducing conscious resistance to silence.

A joint study by Yale University and George Mason University found that those who are disengaged, doubtful, or dismissive of climate change tend to highly trust healthcare providers on the subject — even more than public officials from agencies like NASA and news organizations. (Published 2025)

If you want to "depolarize?" Stop hanging out with nazis and ethnic cleansers. Take some steps towards normalcy.

He claims he didn't support Trump in 2016 and 2020, but did support him in 2024.🤡 He got tired and gave up fighting? So he wants us to give up too?

No.

We have *centuries* of endurance
