*dies of alt text descriptiveness based arousal*

I hope I've been doing well with the descriptiveness of my alt text

You couldn't get away with the name "Zak Asgard" in fiction, but it's perfect in its Dickensian descriptiveness
Apparently it’s weird when you don’t want to spend your whole day arguing with randoms.

Literally, the non-descriptiveness of it is annoying to me, 'content creator' could mean anything, why not just say what it is?

Big ass rocks? I love the journalistic descriptiveness. Teasing

that is part of the descriptiveness, that's it's old

I thought you could never top the wondrous descriptiveness of your "diarrhea *pbrt pbrt*" but this is up there.

A lil conspiracy that I lowkey-highkey believe is that at reasonable chunk of the alt text demands are coming from bots run by image AI companies. This is why they demand a level of descriptiveness and detail that blind users consistently do not want.

The descriptiveness.

The way you paint pictures and scenes is like no other on this app. The descriptiveness >>>>>

I think a lot about how Exalted baked this into its combat mechanics in the forms of Stunts, where you were mechanically rewarded with dice for colorful descriptions in an attempt to make combat more exciting, and the end result was turning this into a rote chore of mandatory descriptiveness

The context @judithbeyer.bsky.social evokes is striking, but I also remember a panel with activists and media scholars in Namibia in the late 2000s which discussed all these things (descriptiveness, quoting people rather than analysing, the questions, the rationalizing) as a problem in African media
There's another trick, esp. when it comes to titles: Phrasing a question which isn't one. E.g, asking something to which we all know the answer or to which we do not want to know the answer. That's another way of feigning journalism without doing one's job. I suggest calling this 'undertainment'.

Do any other writers struggle with aphantasia and descriptiveness? I feel like I often avoid describing characters and how things look because it's quite literally hard for me to imagine.

"Graphics? We don't need no stinkin' graphics!"

Infocom railed hard against graphics in adventure games as the mid-80s dawned, claiming that they'd never equal the ones you saw in your head when combined with their descriptiveness and parser.

A few years later, they'd introduce graphics too.

“Savage Country” was a great read. It was one that began slowly but once you grew comfortable with the author’s writing it was much better. His descriptiveness of the 19th century Southern Plains was so good and put you there for his story.
I guess I can start posting my book takes here too. Just finished a good book on how El Niño has acted to influence civilizational collapse. Good read with lessons for our current warming climate.

Next book is fiction I stole from my parents’ bookshelf!

My encouragement to bud reviewers~> Go outside your usual toolbox with descriptiveness..

LA Kush Cake- Cerebral high
🤷🏼‍♂️

Or

Kush Cake- Ponder 12 different things, while doing 4 at once. Lasts for hours & hours.

Just sayin’ 😏🌱🙏🏻

Oh for sure, but I'm mostly interested in learning when these terms picked up their kink-descriptiveness. Sadly not a lot of notes on "hey this is when we started talking about this kinky stuff this way".
September 20, 2026 at 12:34 PM
even if the kinks in them aren't always my thing your writing's descriptiveness is inspiring

Cannabis “journalism” is umm, not good.
Smarten it up a tad.
Folks know the basics, stop repeating.
Greater focus on cultivation would be welcome.
Less on culture- we don’t care what you like to listen to or wear.
Vibe, feel, descriptiveness, clever with some edge.
No Dbags allowed, period.

MAGAdonia through the eyes of The Beholder... 🤣

The glasses should be "Beezlebub Red" for added descriptiveness. View provided by Satan...☠️🏴‍☠️☠️💀👿

It's actually letmejustdefineavariablepleaseidontwantittobeconstantbutalsodontwantittobeglobal. I'm really glad they shortened it, much easier to read this way, but you do kinda lose some of the descriptiveness
