I have to say ever since the open source version of Synergy has been rebranded to Deskflow it has been spectacular. Had mostly just been using barrier the last 6ish years, but all in on Deskflow now.

Linux on an iMac, even one as "old" as 2011 (an extremely powerful machine) is a glorious experience & the intractable obsolescence problems of OS X just go away.

Specifically, I'm putting Linux on a 2011 iMac, so I'm joining your club! And it may well be that 2012 Macbook Pro gets the same treatment, since I can't handle Chrome's 4 second UI latency much longer.
I use the 2012 MBP for embedded dev: It's perfect for that and yet still massively overpowered

ok, unclear if it's the same bug. I was able to repro in both system package & Flatpak versions.
a reboot did fix it. and I am using Deskflow (but this never happened on a previous install with Deskflow). keyboard entry was misbehaving too and possibly beyond Firefox.

I upgraded my Linux iMac 2011 to 20GB of RAM and SSD making it much more usable for web browsing (from 8GB).
But Deskflow is now messing with modifiers, making it unusable for web browsing.
Why is computer like this
(& I couldn't mount my old encrypted ~dir properly using ecryptfs, another story)
