The correlation between being a Jan 6er and being a pedophile is incredible, it must be like several standard deviations outside what you’d expect just based on chance

Mike Lindell has finally surfaced after losing his primary for MN governor. He says his election was rigged and stolen because there was “major deviations and anomalies on election night” and he’s demanding a recount.

mamdani is like 3 standard deviations to the right on the bell-curve of "levels of charisma in any politician, ever"
Child at the podium: “A woo woo woo.”

Mamdani: That’s how I felt when we came up with this plan. Together, we will expand the idea of what is possible in our city—and what sounds and noises we can make at a press conference.

Nine standard deviations.
We’re going to need a bigger scale..

The exceptional mediterranean heatwave continues with anomalies close to 8°C above average.

This is around 9 standard deviations above normal. 5 is considered an exceptional, once in a several thousand year event. This is EXTREME.

What is it about white nationalists that makes them obsessed with IQ, and “high IQ”? Clark was like that too. Always talking about how he was “five standard deviations above the norm” in IQ. We used to laugh at him behind his back about it.
Whistles are now WMDs, according to the "high IQ" crowd.

I mean "elite conventional wisdom" the same shit that gets platformed constantly with few deviations

Likely the best visual of the historic heatwave in the US West. You just don’t see deviations like this.
As the first reanalysis data become available, I think I can say with a fairly high degree of confidence that the March 2026 heatwave will go down as the most anomalously extreme heat event ever observed at any time of year in the southwestern U.S.

The high number for anchor drag distance, 300-400km it’s an estimation based on anomalous speed deviations like those seen with Eagle S, New new polar bear, Yi Peng 3.

Might be 100 km less or so if we blame those deviations on headwinds.

Something I’ve noticed is there seems to be a sort of pervasive assumption that the status quo has gravity. That there’s a natural, comfortable way things should be and that deviations from the normal state of the world will correct themselves in time.

But as a paleontologist, I know this is false.

We have more standard deviations than anyone else. People are always talking about how many standard deviations we have
1/3: Here's what wild about gas prices right now. The past two days have seen the largest increase in gas prices ($0.22/gallon) since 2005, making it one of the fastest increases ever. What's suprising about this is not only the magnitude, but the speed of the passthrough.
