Aim for the Ace! is one of the prettiest cartoons ever made. That old Dezaki magic.
Also want to shout out these neat shots at the start of 6, which introduce autumn leaves as abstract shards of colour through which we look, and only then cut to a shot in which the shards are visibly on trees.

Will every episode be bookended like this? Hope so! If younger generations don't care for Dezaki Postcards, they're gonna get Coco Books

Osamu Dezaki.
If Dezaki Lupin has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Dezaki Lupin has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Dezaki Lupin has only one fan then that is me. If Dezaki Lupin has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Dezaki Lupin, then I am against the world.
I feel like a disproportionate number of "best screenshots" come from the Dezaki flicks, and among THOSE a disproportionate number come from "Napoleon's Dictionary"... This is my personal fave.

I'm not sure any anime has looked quite as good to me as the Dezaki Black Jack OVA.

Correction: the creator is Osamu Dezaki, as someone pointed out.
This used to play as a saturday morning cartoon here when I was a kid (anime Treasure Island - 1978, Osamu Tezuka), and it was the best thing ever. Not many of my friends remember it. It still looks gorgeous. Just popped up when I was researching for some class slides.

Watching Black Jack: The Movie for the first time in a years, Dezaki is doing dramatic lighting changes within the harmony shots, which is just unfair to everyone else
