I do need to understand the distinction between Synchrony and Diachrony, but ALSO this stick figure just farted hard enough to blast himself across the WHOLE page

The issue in which it appears is full of interesting papers on the semantics, typology and diachrony of mediopassive t- across Afroasiatic - in Akkadian, Modern South Arabian, Hebrew, Cushitic, Somali, Kabyle, & Ancient Egyptian. Several are Open Access.

Ali Smith: Autumn

Awe inspiring.

We’re time-containers, we hold all our diachrony, our pasts and our futures (and also the pasts and futures of all the people who made us and who in turn we’ll help to make) in every one of our consecutive moments / minutes / days / years.

35. Erasmian pronunciation is wrong and gives a bad impression of the diachrony of the language (voiced stops probably lenited to fricatives first, not voiceless aspirates), but it's probably pedagogically fine in the classrooms of L1 languages who don't have a phonemic contrast between /T/ and /Tʰ/

Does anyone have literature on the typology (and possibly diachrony) of 'chez'-like adpositions? I know that French and Koyra Chiini both have chez-adpositions and idk where to look honestly.

The argument that Dems should only talk about issues where current polling shows Trump's popularity is low makes me wish more pundits would read Ferdinand de Saussure on the difference between diachrony and synchrony.

And you can't have diachrony when you're a superpositional block of frozen language that occasionally collapses into a pattern when exposed to a prompt.
