I’m giving a talk this week with the Charles Dickens Museum on Dickens' Women.
“Mad, Bad, or Too Good to Be True?” explores Victorian women and the complex portrayal of female characters in Dickens' works.
You can listen in live or to the recording later.

My interview for the Dickens Museum's SHOWTIME! exhibition is now available online. They projected it on a wall for six months, meaning I was too frightened to watch! Includes ramblings on David Lean's seminal OLIVER TWIST (1948), Simon Callow, Alastair Sim, Gonzo, etc.

A slide of imperative verbs (addressed to himself? Or to the narrative?) gleaned from Dickens’s memoranda and notes as part of www.dickensnotes.com project and a session with the manuscripts themselves in the V&A National Art Library. Thanks to Anna Gibson and Adam Grener for a great workshop!
