I realize I'm probably the only person in the universe who prefers smaller packaging for physical media but these blu ray "digibooks" from Germany are ridiculously excessive. There's just one blu ray in each of these, vs 2 in the raid's package (for scale).

I'd honestly even take digibooks over steelbooks. They're also impossible to replace or repair, but at least they're more durable.

Azathoth and Nyarlathotep have some different packaging styles that make them a bit different from the other collaborations and there are no DigiBooks with them.

#CDFriday Just as teenage girls enter something commonly referred to as their "Horse Phase", university students of a nerdier disposition might enter either a Fantasy Book and/or a Prog Rock Phase. The latter got me pretty good. I still love these high quality hard-cover digibooks from Inside-Out.

For this exact reason, I've put serious thought into buying and printing digibooks of games that I finish on Steam so that I can have a physical collection of my digital games.

Best thing about digiBooks is that they don’t weigh anything.

As for the release that I picked up....there IS a 4K of this, but it's a LUDICROUSLY expensive Steelbook, while this is a very nice Digibook that comes with a built in booklet with some writing and photos.

I wish that they'd bring back Digibooks...I prefer this style of packaging to Steelbooks.

I don’t like digibooks because of that reason. At least steelbooks are the same size heighth & width. I like my shelf to look organized.

I have a few digibooks, Doctor Zhivago, Meet Me In St Louis, Falling Down, Camelot, & The Princess Bride. Oh, and seasons 1 & 2 of The Clone Wars.

The last picture shows dents in the spines of some of the digibooks. It’s not from shipping as the set was very well packed by @orbitdvd.bsky.social and the spines on the damaged ones were all facing the center so this probably happened at the manufacture stage. Too bad QC didn’t catch it ☹️

In other words, to shut this rant-y Thread down, here's the last time I felt excited drawing something by hand - had to present a Pitch for a Graphic Novel at a separate course (a Writing one), and I let myself loose with the dam thing. Had a lot of 2000s Collector's DVD Digibooks as the main inspo.

for cds: i prefer jewel cases to digipacks, but digipacks are better than digibooks, cause at least theres a way to secure the disc

Firstly, the Steelbook box is like 2 1/4x the size of the regular 4K box, and there is a significant difference in price.

I do love these films, but honestly Steelbooks aren't that special to me. The Digibooks are pretty nice in this, if a little flimsy. It's more than enough for me.
