Fine white sand and gently lapping waves.

Shaded areas offer refuge from the sun while the weathered cottages add a touch of mystery. Oblivious to any recent storms, they create a sense of serene seclusion, as if time here stands still.

Gealan Beach.

Bitaog, a few hundred meters away and separated by rocks was supposed to be our destination. There were boats docked, so we decided to explore this unkept beach instead. It turned out to be beautiful and completely deserted.

Pagkawasan Garden Beach Resort.

Here P1,700/night gets you well-kept lawns, unique attic rooms, and a pristine beach like the others. Plus, nearby boulders offer a daring jump into the clear waters. This is our last stop here in Basilisa.

Banuyo Beach.

Still part of Basilisa, this small resort provides comfortable accommodations for P1,500 a night. Rent a kayak and explore the nearby cove or simply unwind on their deck, soaking in the stunning ocean views.

Cabacongan Beach

Unlike its neighbor Banuyo (east side of Unib Island, this is on the west), this beach stretches out for a kilometer, offering ample space for long walks while questioning life choices between dips in the calm, shallow waters.

I will do just that, with my coconut. Which I forgot existed even if I'm surrounded by them.

Back on the road with my "chauffeur" and his trusty bao-bao, the most common type of transportation here. This time, we're off to the municipality of Cagdianao, on the western side of Dinagat Islands facing Siargao. Nice roads and scenic views!

You can always tell how much money a municipality has by their public market. This would have to be the nicest one I have ever seen.

Cagdianao, is about 25 kms west of Dinagat's capital, San Jose. Mining contributes to the town's economy.

Cagdianao Boulevard

This long boulevard truly comes alive at night. Families gather to witness the breathtaking sunset, setting up picnics to enjoy the cool evening air. There's a food hub at the end of the boulevard as well.

Tagbirayan Beach.

The jewel of western Dinagat with its sugar-like, tan sand. This emerging surfing destination comes alive when the northeast monsoon starts. It transforms into a haven for surfers, attracting wave riders from around the region.

Their beliefs are truly fascinating, deviating from any strict doctrines. Their properties include the shrine, a mansion where a gunfight erupted when police attempted to serve a warrant on Ecleo Jr., and the castle. The view from here is undeniably stunning.
