For (2): It is important to remember that when the microwave came out, it was said it would replace your kitchen. Whole microwave cookbooks came out and it was even a feature of DisneyWorld's Tomorrowland. Obviously, it delivered convenience that was inarguable, but also underwhelming.

This show is so awful it's actually astounding to me. Disneyworld's animatronic characters have more emotional range. Set pieces, great. Costuming, great. Writing / Acting? Not so much.

DisneyWorld's design called for Main Street to be brick from end to end. Disney found that a nearby town was tearing up brick streets and made an attempt to purchase the used bricks. The cost was so high, the plan was scrapped and concrete used. The small side streets are brick.

When I was much younger, I remember going to a display at Disneyworld's Epcot where various cartoon stereotypes debated the future of energy. I always remember the oil tycoon summing up at the end (very condescendingly) how all this new-fangled energy may be for the future, but oil is for the now.
