The larvae of striped willow leaf beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Disonycha alternata) feed on willow trees like this sandbar willow (Salicaceae: Salix exigua). As with most insects, the larvae look nothing like the adults. Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado, 03 Aug 2013.

What's eating your passionflower vines? It might be passiflora flea beetles if the fritillary butterflies haven't arrived. Allegedly, they rarely cause lasting damage to established plants. Disonycha discoidea and Parchicola tibialis. #insects #beetles #nativeplants #gardening🌱

Look! At! This! Awesome! Beetle!

iNat says it is one of three flea beetles (they jump!) but I think I have ruled out the third. Either Disonycha leptolineata, or Disonycha glabrata
