Just seen at dusk at #Villach 🇦🇹 Hbf: an #UEX #UrlaubsExpress 🇩🇪 car-carrying train to #Hamburg and #Düsseldorf, hauled by two Siemens #Dispolok electrics, one #Vectron and one #Taurus. The consist included former TUI-Ferienexpress couchettes and some stainless steel ex Type P, ex AB30, sleepers.

#Kempten 🇩🇪 in late June 2007: a #Siemens #ER20 #Eurorunner diesel in #Dispolok livery is seen here, working a service bound for #Oberstdorf. The cars were labelled #Alex, standing, back then, for #Allgäu Express.
This locomotive type can also be seen in Austria, i.a. as #ÖBB Class 2016 #Hercules.

A type ES 64 F4 #Siemens Class E.189 #Dispolok is seen here speeding through #Villach Warmbad 🇦🇹 in July 2006. Around this time, these locos, decorated with big #ÖBB stickers on the body sides, could frequently be seen in southern #Austria, mainly on workings into #Italy.

At first I was more interested in the Altbau locomotive with zebra striping, but the 189 locomotive at the front of the train is still in that weird yellow colour from Siemens Dispolok, which is probably even rarer nowadays.

I don’t think they’ll do it soon, but it would be funny if Siemens were to follow up on Dispolok, Smartron and Mireo Smart with a Velaro Smart. Pre-configured, available on standard terms and conditions and on relatively short notice.
