Scottish hand-dived scallops prove seafood can be both sustainable and premium quality 🌊

Supporting #Fish24 means choosing low-impact fishing that protects marine habitats, supports coastal communities and keeps our seas thriving.

The loss of the Michelin Green Star risks pushing sustainability further out of the spotlight just when our seas need it most. 🌊

How seafood is caught matters.

Hand-dived scallops protect marine habitats, unlike dredging which damages the seabed.

Small pub, big principles 🦞

We visited the Colintraive Hotel to talk seafood with head chef Joe, who uses creel-caught langoustines from Loch Fyne, hand-dived Orkney scallops, all local and seasonal. Simple food done right.

A huge thank you again to chefs Peter McKenna and Calum Montgomery for an incredible menu that showed just how good sustainable seafood can be and why how we catch our seafood matters.

Still buzzing from last week's #DivedNotDredged event at the @parliament.scot

We brought together food organisations and businesses, fishers, conservationists, and MSPs to discuss how we can protect Scotland’s inshore waters and support sustainable fishing, like scallop diving.

Our message is out there on the big screen:

🤿 Support low-impact fishermen by choosing dive caught scallops, not dredged.

Though scallops might all look the same on your plate, how they’re caught makes a huge difference to the seabed.

Hearing divers’ stories never gets old.

When we spoke with scallop diver and Director of Keltic Seafare, Alasdair Hughson, for our The Orkney Dive film, he had plenty to share about how rich life on Scotland’s seabed can be.
