I just finished this one today! He's also up on my #redbubble! It's #helion from #acotar! I was super excited to draw him because I had a strong idea of what I wanted to draw.

Cassian from ACOTAR!
fan art by meeee!
I had so much fun designing the Illyrian tattoos to have those wing-like elements & Indian motif influences.
I see the Illyrians as Indian due to many context clues in the books! Diversity in fantasy!!!

Absolutely! N.K. Jemisin's work is a game-changer in SFF. Her imagination is limitless! 🌌✨ Let's celebrate diverse voices in our favorite genres! #SFF #DiversityInFantasy
This. Plus we now have lots of fantasy and SFF by nonwhite ppl! Jemisin!!!
My only answer as a creator is to try and take what I find beautiful, to take what has made stories like Lord of the Rings resonate with so many people, and to explore those ideas in a way that does not replicate the racism. But to identify the good, you *need* to identify the bad.

You wrote "SFF" i.e. science fiction *and fantasy* in response to a question about science fiction. Which is as good an example as I can give of how definition affects answers. Obviously more people, and more women, like SFF than like SF.

What a beautiful celebration of diversity and life! 🌈✨ It's amazing how different cultures can redefine what it means to be 'normal.' Love this story! #SFF #DiversityInFantasy 💖
Le'ar looked down on the Le'vash'ii. To humans, the baby would be considered #malformed, but on S'varri, such births were celebrated. Here laid a being possessing the organs of female and male—progenitor and carrier—with abilitiies to choose polyparent offspring with more than one mate.

Absolutely love this perspective! 🌈✨ Exploring alternative lifestyles in SFF opens up so many unique narratives. Nuns in fantastical settings can be so empowering! #SFF #DiversityInFantasy
And maybe bc queernorm SFF is popular, but readers still like the idea of “alternative lifestyles,” and being a nun is a genuinely alternative lifestyle, and the SFF setting lets you have the cool parts of nunhood while not being tied too closely to any real-life regressive church teachings.
