Pushing skill ceilings and chasing metas comes later. You need to enjoy playing the game first and Devs lose sight of that constantly.

Interesting! While the new Last Round version of DOA6 wants you to re-buy everything without a single online improvement, modders got a working lobby browser for 5 (considered the best of the bunch).

just read an interview for doa6 where they said their YOUNGEST employee designed minato so she can be the most MODERN take on a schoolgirl, and how they knew the rest of their perceptions were all too old. anyways her new costume is a kogyaru look that could be from 30 years ago. (I like it though)

Just seeing this and imagine being this fucking stupid. DOA6 already has a censor/toggle for events. Problem was already solved. Just flag the costumes on the backend or let the player set costumes for their opponent (SF6 has this I believe). How the fuck has DOA6 been a misstep...TWICE?

I like the stages in DOA5 and still like that game more overall (specifically DOA5LR), but the older games had much better stages with their hazards and *multiple* transitions. Heck, the Unforgettable stage in DOA6 just makes you think "Where did this stage design go? :("

I like how the Achievement to unlock Leon was worth only 10 Gamerscore. It's kind of insulting given how damn OP Alpha-152 is and hard to beat.

DOA4 is a much slower game than Dimensions, DOA5, and even DOA6, and yet Alpha-152 is way faster than anyone in the future games...

it was almost certainly because shareholders heard how big a prize pot Capcom Cup had and said "we want your game to facilitate this kind of thing"

That interview about why Minato is a clone character so beginners can get into the game? DOA has already had beginner friendly new characters, and they have their own unique fighting styles.

See: Hitomi (DOA3), Kokoro (DOA4), NiCO and Diego (DOA6).

Do they even DOA history?
