Looks like they've finally realised that some people might want an actual sequel to DoW1 the RTS rather than the other genres the other sequels dabbled in.
I mean, I don't hate DoW2 or anything, but it's not a game I go back to as much as DoW1, y'know?

in this game, heroes actually are in-world larger than most other fairies, rather than it being purely a gameplay thing.
Besides the WC3 style commander heroes below, there will also be smaller heroes that can be attached to squads to provide passive benefits (DoW1 style)

They suffer the same fate in DoW1, but that's probably for the same reason: If you are the baseline that all the other factions are balanced around, you inherently become average.

also necrons are slow, as they should be, but their builder units can make teleportation buildings that allow necrons to get in and go to other buildings, like how the guard worked in dow1

DoW1 was so, SO good. The expacs were decent, but had a lot of Stupud decisions included too (0-1 Terminators, Ogryns, KASRKIN? UH?!)
DoW1 had natural escalation in, too. I remember one match where it started normally, ended in a slugfest between endgame armies. Brutal and perfect.

i love DoW1 the OG is the best DoW2 is okay never play DoW3 and never will
i love Fallout 3/new vegas and 4? not so much the few things 4 did it right is power armor and very cool weapon modding system the rest is mediocore

On that note, I've been going back into DoW1 with the remaster and the whiplash in terms of lore is *wild*. A lot things that just feel slightly off in an uncanny valley kind of way, like using the *Alpha Legion* as their generic Chaos Bad Guys (when today the Black Legion exist precisely for that).

It would take at least 2-3 expansions for the new one to catch up with where DoW1 left off, and in the mean time why not just give us some more toys to play with.
