I wonder if dopplegangers will be able to block others from licensing their likeness: "that is the likeness of {famous person} but it is also my likeness: i do not authorize it's use."

There are times where the PCs should be in the dark, I think. Dopplegangers and illusionist types come to mind. Honestly though, I don't normally use them, because I don't want my players getting paranoid and making an XFiles episode out of every simple encounter.

Jordan Peele's Us (2019), since it certainly is an unsettling psychological horror movie that manages to go so freaking hard in terms of what it brings with it's horror elements, especially with the dopplegangers and symbolism, but it also critiques upon the issues of systemic inequalities.

How much pushback do you get for the skip drive technology in that series? It mainly centers around a husband, wife, and their adopted daughter, yet it's actually about various dopplegangers of these folks mixing it up in various universes, and we don't even know which universe we're in.
