His Sacred Trust
#Namor #Avengers #BlackKnight #DrDruid #Thor #SheHulk #CaptainMarvel

Three comic panels from Avengers #293
Panel 1, close-up of Black Knight.
Black Knight: "There is one additional problem. Wherever we find Marrina, we're likely to find NAMOR as well. I don't know that he's going to take kindly to the thought of harpooning his wife, no matter *how* noble the cause."
Panel 2, group shot of Dr Druid, Thor, She-Hulk, and Captain Marvel (II)
Namor, from off-panel: "A TRUE monarch, Dane, will sacrifice *anything*, even his own happiness, for the good of the subjects he rules. That is his SACRED TRUST."
Captain Marvel: "NAMOR!"
Panel 3, Namor enters the room
Namor: And though I am no longer a monarch, am I not a guardian of EARTH and its mortal inhabitants? Is my trust not as SACRED?"
Thor from off panel: "Well spoken, Prince Namor."

This sequence of events was reiterated (& also reversed/negated) by Roy (no continuity is complete unless I touch it) Thomas in #DoctorSTRANGE #SorcererSupreme #34, where he has Strange & #DrDruid discuss their shared origins, and that of #DrDoom

My copy of AMAZING ADVENTURES #1 featuring the 1st appearance of #DrDROOM - not only the 1st @Marvel silver-age superhero (beating the #FantasticFour), but also the template for #DoctorSTRANGE.

Droom would later be renamed #DrDRUID & his origin would be entwined with Strange's.
