2. Withdrawal (Adar/Sauron - past)

#drabblechallenge #TROP
He never intended to keep the ring. The remnants were rotting. As they should. Yet Adar, compelled, searched the frozen rags. He held it now, a single golden halo that once adorned his lover’s finger. Its cold caress often found against his cheek. Mairon promised the world; whispered silk into Adar’s all too willing ear. Promises beyond measure - sweeter than any wine; Adar believed him, once. Returning the wretched memento to its trinket box, Adar closed the lid. Briefly, his palms smoothed over a lovingly carved dragon. He carried the box outside the tent and threw it onto a fire.

I started the AO3 shutdown drabble challenge that was kindly shown to me. I don't know how far I'll get but my two main rules -

- All TROP (optional lore-flexiblity) with multiple ships or friendships considered.
- Exactly 100 words.

First up -

1. Panic (Nori & Poppy)

#drabblechallenge #TROP
Stir. Stir. A whole universe whirls round and round. With enough vegetables and coney to feed a large family. It is for a large family, Nori supposes. Sighing, she continues to swirl the broth upon a wooden spoon and looks up to the emerging stars. Oh, how she longs to be among them. “Stop!” Poppy cries, barrelling toward Nori and grabbing the pot by the handle. Stew slops over the edge, splattering Poppy’s dress. “What did you do that for?” snaps Nori. “The stew was burning!” At the fireside, frowns become smiles become laughter. And above, a single star shimmers.
