Meanwhile, the kids' valuable education time is taken up by utterly useless & demotivating rote learning.

NAPLAN was supposed to be a low-stakes snapshot as to how schools & students were doing.
Instead it’s now a high-stakes, toxic test that consumes time, effort, resources as schools & teachers “prepare” kids by *teaching to the test*.
Many hate it & get stressed out by it.

Curious if Naplan tests results are skewed based on teachers teaching to take the test rather than focusing on core learning. In the US, for example, there is a lot of focus on teachers training students to do well on the test so that schools can get their money.
