#Duloks
The bad guy "Duloks" on Ewoks always looked like the Grinch to me, I'm sure there must be some unofficial link there...

One last note to close out this post - AoT is by *that* Joe Johnston. The post trilogy era has interesting examples of LFL mainstays trying on different roles, with Johnston writing/illustrating a kids' book, writing a Droids episode, and trying out unit directing on Ewoks movies & Howard the Duck.

There’s very little documentation on how these came about, so I’m assuming that the concepts from the animated series originated front the series, and were seeded into these projects. That includes things like Princess Kneesaa, the Phlogs, lantern birds, Duloks and others.

Princess Kneesaa sings an Ewokese lullaby with great grace under duress for day 81 of #TheDiegeticShuffle, putting those darn Duloks to sleep with the power of "Lubby Yubby Wokling" (feat. Latara on flute).

At the moon of Endor, still no clone force 99. Duloks proving problematic..

it's time to return. it's time to go back to all the little freaks (complimentary). no more star wars for the youtuber reviewer personalities.

i'd consider throwing in a fresh podracing game for good measure if the fans behave themselves.

On day 261 of #TheDiegeticShuffle we're once again on the Forest Moon of Endor, where Latara faces a crowd of rowdy Duloks (and one very enthusiastic Dulok) with a musical interlude on her flute. Play them a song, Ewok! Credited to Patricia Cullen, David Greene, and David Shaw.

Yooooooo Duloks

HELL YEAH DULOKS
November 1, 2024 at 3:42 PM
Duloks like music and dancing just like Ewoks, but their instruments hit sour notes—and sometimes they're interrupted by phantoms. This brief Patrick Gleeson source cue from "Night of the Stranger" is what's going on on day 341 of #TheDiegeticShuffle.

Zombie Duloks!!!

The Duloks were the primary villains of the 1985 animated Ewoks series, where their species backstory was fleshed out. In recent years, they’ve reappeared in Canon works, making their debut in 2018’s Tales from Vader’s Castle #4.

On this day in 1985, the final episode of Star Wars: Ewoks Season 1 aired on ABC! The Nelvana-animated series expanded Endor’s lore, introduced Princess Kneesaa, the Duloks, and early world-building later echoed across Star Wars.

the problematic argument could be made that they simply did not know any better, but ewoks shared the forest moon with a number of other sentient cultures: duloks, yuzzums, goraxes, phlogs. did the ewoks eat them, too?

The Endor Marauders built what seems to be Phlog Statues around their castle to scare off any intruders, like Duloks
May 24, 2025 at 1:41 PM
Ahahaha, basically. But no, they were a canon antagonistic species amongst the Ewoks in the 80s called Duloks!

The costume’s description indicates Imara has spent some time on Endor:

“Duloks are one of the more ruthless species on Endor. I try to avoid wildlife while on a job, but I’ve had a few unpleasant run-ins with them.”

A blum-maggot was a type of maggot. Between 5 ABY and 28 ABY, the Dulok King Gorneesh referred to the Ewok Wicket Wystri Warrick as a "snivelling blum-maggott" when Warrick ran to attack a group of Duloks at their camp on the Outer Rim Forest Moon of Endor.

Of course, this costume’s name references the Dulok species from Endor, which first appeared in 1984’s The Adventures of Teebo: A Tale of Magic and Suspense by Joe Johnston.

The weapon’s description references the struggle between the two Endor-native species:

“Duloks and Ewoks are natural enemies, I suppose that’s what comes of fighting over the same resources when you’re bound to a planet.”
