It was kind of a sweet spot in both time and place. My husband and I would go to the beach and have picnics in the dunes. There was a disabled crow who was unable to fly so he walked everywhere - folks fed him, he was so tame. He also had a seagull pal who tagged along for the ride.

It’s the reason you started. ------ that things will get better. ------ that you’ll make it. But you can’t remember the word ------ anymore. Maybe you’ve hit the limit of your mind. Or maybe it’s just ------ packing its bags and slowly leaving your body. Everything feels lost. Your thoughts aren’t even yours anymore, and you’re losing the last crumbs of ------. Then a gust of sandy wind slaps you right in the eyes. Blinded. When your sight returns, the horizon clears, and there it is. Sharp and clear, right in front of you. The word finally comes back to you.

That sounds like a lovely place to get your start in life. I was camping with someone who grew up in the Indiana Dunes. I think Muskegon is his favorite state park in Michigan (which is a high bar...).

My family loves Sunset Dunes almost as much as we love John Elliott! Seriously though! Sunset Dunes and JFK are proof: from dancing jellyfish to Naya the dragon, give people in this city open space, and they will fill it with art, music, neighbors, and creative energy. No on G!

My family loves Sunset Dunes almost as much as we love John Elliott! Seriously though! Sunset Dunes and JFK are proof: from dancing jellyfish to Naya the dragon, give people in this city open space, and they will fill it with art, music, neighbors, and creative energy. No on G!
In the miso soup by ryu murakami, audition by ryu murakami, the ring series by koji suzuki, woman in the dunes by abe, if you want classics, Akutagawa Ryunosuke has written some amazing short stories. My favorite is Hell Screen, but Rashomon is his most famous.
