Passano treni locali ed ETR, moderni e comodi. Però mi mancano i vecchi treni trainati dai locomotori diesel E345 che quando si fermavano qui sotto veniva da tossire 🙂. E i treni veloci li trainavano gli E444 ("tartarughe"), non ancora segati, o gli E656 ("caimani") oggi accantonati.

Il problema principale di questo sistema è che è abbastanza rumoroso e inefficiente, oltre ad essere molto grande e pesante. Ben presto è stato sostituito dai convertitori statici, che come dice il nome non hanno parti rotanti ma solo semiconduttori e trasformatori.

Il problema principale di questo sistema è che è abbastanza rumoroso e inefficiente, oltre ad essere molto grande e pesante. Ben presto è stato sostituito dai convertitori statici, che come dice il nome non hanno parti rotanti ma solo semiconduttori e trasformatori.
Il convertitore rotante, usato solo nelle carrozze più anziane (in Italia sparito da decenni), è molto semplice. Un motore elettrico a 3000V (o 1500V) CC aziona un alternatore, che produce le tensioni che vogliamo.
