I used the MMC Flasher from ECUTools last spring on a 4G63 ECU. It worked great in boot mode once I followed their PDF guide. Just make sure you have a clean 12 V supply — any voltage drop throws checksum errors. The software is pretty fast and their support answered my email within a day.
